Soccer and Other Tidbits

Well, last night our team laid a big egg as we lost 4-1. On the upside, Cameron played a good game and was one of our top three players. As a team, we just did not have it and hopefully that will be the worst game that we play all year. We also got a couple of new kids playing net which was great. The more the merrier - I guess we can now loook forward to tomorrow night to be back on the pitch again. Tonight we are back to baseball.
It now looks like we will be starting at FBC Lacombe July 17. I am getting more and more excited as time moves along. I have been looking at small group stuff again and praying for what sermon series I am going to use through the first year. It is all good stuff.
Colleen has had some training in Regina the last two days and it has been great to have her along for the ride - it certainly brightens up my trip to Regina and back. On Thursday, we celebrate 15 years of marriage - it is hard to believe that it has been that long - for ME, the time has just flown by - please do not ask her - she may feel like she has been in purgatory!:)
Everyday I am reminded just how good God is. As I discuss some things with the leadership of Lacombe, I am reminded of just that. In the last year, we have had different discussions with over ten churches - each one you wonder about. But, this is a church where I can flourish, a church that wants me involved in the community, a church that trusts their leadership and pastor, a church where people want to grow spiritually, a church that is concerned with taking the mission of Christ seriously. God must really love me if He is putting me in that type of situation - we had other opportunities, churches with bigger attendance, staff and budgets, but this is where we can flourish. Thank you God for not listening me and placing where we can thrive! While we will miss our friends in MJ, it will be good to get out of town, not only for us, but I also think for FBC - though I think many have already talked themselves into thinking that they did not do anything wrong.
I should go before I type other things that I may regret!
Later,
Steven

Hey man ... great blog! I'm really glad things have worked out for you guys. I didn't realize you've been able to talk to that many churches. I suppose it would make ending up at this one that much more sweet. Blessings on your "new life" ... it was our privilege to have the four of you with us on Sunday. K.

What an amazing thing to see what God is doing in your life. ...and quite something to see you put up a blog. This is what happens when you hang out with po-mo's.

...just get a picture in the profile...even if it's something crazy pulled off of the net! :D
