The endless parade of needles

Yesterday and today, I went to see my allergy specialist in Regina. At the end of February, Colleen and I were in Abbotsford BC when I got very sick with something that I ate and my throat closed up. Since then, my vocal chords have not been the same and I have had other problems too. So, it was finally time to get the needles done and find out what I am allergic too. Are you ready for the list? I am allergic to nine in the air allergins and just about everything that I eat - the worst are spices and tea. But I am allergic to just about everything that I was tested for. So now, I have to begin with allergy shots again in a couple of weeks and I must also begin to eat in a four day rotation so that my blood does not get "poisoned" and create another allergic reacation. Sound depressing? I am not too depressed at this point - it is better to be alive and share life with my family. My list of absolute things to stay away from is shorter than most - coffee and tea -(no not coffee!!!!), canned, processed and cured foods, and chocolate and other junk funds. It could be worse.
Now, I know that you are waiting in unbaited breath for baseball results. Andrew's team got skunked, but he went 2 for 3, with a walk and a couple of good defensive plays. He hustled and worked hard and looks like a ball player when he is on the field - always ready and paying attention. I think that is pretty outstanding for a six year old.
The last couple of days I have been re-reading the life of Solomon. When God asked him what one thing he would like, he said wisdom. I have been thinking what one thing I would like if God asked me. I think that wisdom might be what I would ask for too. Maybe less gray hair too!:) What would you ask God for? I am curious to see what you think. Just one more thought before I go - I know that I should not do this, but I am. Having been in Alberta three of the last seven weekends - I have to say this - you can tell when you are on a Saskatchewan highway. Our highways are not what they should be - Alberta has much nicer roads and I am sure some of you are thinking - why don't you move there then? Well, we are!
Game 2 goes tonight in the Stanley Cup and I think that Carolina will win in 5. I would have liked to see Edmonton win, but without Rolie the Goalie, I do not think that can happen. Time will tell and the Jays won last night, so let's keeping it going tonight and beat those Orioles! Have a great day.
Steven
