A cloudy day!
As I sit in my office and I look outside, the rain is falling gently and the sky is gray. It is kind of nice actually, it has been a few weeks since we have had rain and it now looks like we are going to get three or four days in a row.
It is starting to feel like fall and what I love about fall is being able to wear hoody's and sweatshirts, the smell of fire in the air and jumping into piles of leaves. Andrew is very excited and on Sunday, he raked a pile of leaves (it was a small pile) and threw them over himself. It was fun to hear him giggle as he did it.
I am enjoying being back in ministry most days and I am finding the transition interesting as I get back on the horse and ride again. I must admit that I am tired and find some of the listening and mental work very demanding and takes a lot of out of me.
On the house front, the ditch is dug for the electrical to run from the house to the garage. It was a lot of work digging through roots, cutting them up and getting rid of rocks. It would have taken forever if it was not for Colleen's dad who did so much to help us!
Cameron is playing football this year too and is enjoying it very much. Saturday they lost in Wetaskiwin 29-15, but this is the first year for PeeWee football in Lacombe, so I thought that the team did better than the coaches expected.
Both boys are enjoying school, and both have teachers that attend our church - what a comforting thought for parents!:) I guess not for the boys though, knowing that they cannot get away with anything!:) Both are making new friends and that is great.
While we are settling in, and new relationships are being developed, we do miss our friends in Moose Jaw. God has been very good to us and I was just reminded of that this morning AGAIN, that even in the midst of the storms of life, God is there. I really do not know how people make it through times in their lives without God.
I want to say hi to my friend in Ontario Paul and tell him that Lee and Diane were in church on Sunday - thanks for that contact Paul.
I also had a great conversation with my friend Don on Sunday night. I am so glad that he called. He was telling me about harvest and I must admit that I was more than just a little green with envy as he was talking about harvest - I really miss helping, driving the equipment, working with a friend and being in the middle of fields and being able to feel the presence of God. Unless you have experienced a prairie harvest, it is very hard to describe. I am hoping to help a potatoe farmer in the church, with some of their harvest - it would be neat to see how things go on this end after working at Hostess for so many years. The problem is that his contract is with Old Dutch!:(
I think that is enough for today - thanks for reading!
