A Beautiful Day!

Sorry to copy from U2 - but if I am going to copy - good place to copy, don't you think? I decided to use that as the title for the blog because Marcia and Braden played it at their wedding. It was a great day and they had a very nice wedding that was certainly God-centred. It was a great day and the boys, Merle, Colleen and I were the last to leave at 1 am Sunday morning. Good thing that school is not going on right now.
It was weird to be back in FBC, but I really did not feel anything, so that is a good sign. As we left MJ, our family got out of the van and dusted off the sand on our sandals (as per Luke 10), and prayed that God would help us to remember the good times and the great friends that we made in Moose Jaw and not focus on the people who tried to harm us. Another step in the healing. We all cried and hugged, got back in the van and drove home to Lacombe.
Again, I was reminded of what the church should be and not what it often is. We tend to be so self focused that we are not focused on who God is and what He wants to do in our lives. We were reminded of God's goodness to us again this morning. The church gave us over $600 in gift certificates for a local grocery store. That is to just get us started. What a nice gesture!
Today is my first day in the office and I am typing at my new computer that the church has purchased for me. I am overcome with the kindness that have exhibited so far. The atmosphere is totally different here than in Moose Jaw. I know that it is early and I want to keep my mind on that, but I just feel that the history is so different and that the end result will be different, even when we get into tough times.
All these things said, it was hard saying good bye one last time to our friends in Moose Jaw. We shed some more tears between last Monday and Saturday night. But we know that God is in this and the new friends that we have made already remind me that friendships should be made wherever we go in life. If Christ is our true friend, then that friendship should flow out into all of our lives.
Gotta go!:) Have a great day. From my new office in Lacombe!
