A Thankful Thanksgiving
Here I am writing the day after Thanksgiving and it was a great weekend, except for the fact that both Mac and the U of S both lost in football - enough of that!:)
We had a great day yesterday as we went hiking in the mountains. It was a gorgeous day and it is amazing where you can get in this world when you travel an hour and a half. I am going to post some of our pictures from the day onto my blog. We went to Crescent Falls and hiked by the waterfall and along the river. It was so nice to get away as a family. The sky was blue, we saw snow and ice, we felt the cool mountain air - it was great.
Cameron played football on Saturday and the day was not as nice - I think it was about +5 at game time, which was 11 am. I was reffing and the only ref in shorts! These guys in Central Alberta are not as tough as my friends in Moose Jaw. It was only the second game that I reffed this year and I feel very rusty. I am really missing reffing with my buddies in MJ. Maybe next year I can get back to ref a Friday night with them and just hang out.
The ditch at the house is finished and we now have electricity in the garage. Yeah! We have also added new eavestroughs to the house, so we have put over $3000 into the house so far and I think that the painting will begin shortly.
Things are going well at the church - maybe too good. The church is growing and new people are out every week. I am a little overwhelmed as I look at some of the people that I need to visit and get to know. But, it is great to be ina place where lots of exciting things are happening. I told the congregation that we would 300+ in three years - right now we are about 230 and averaging over 50 more than a year ago - hopefully things can keep up.
I should go - trust that you had a great thanksgiving - we had an excellent turkey dinner at Colleen's folks on Sunday night. It is nice to be in a country that is free and a country where we can afford such a big and tasty meal. God is good!

Hey Teddy!
Happy Thanksgiving! No sweat ham for your dinner eh?! haha! Fond memories! Do Colleen's parents live out west as well?
We celebrated with David's family at the lake this year. Mom isn't too well right now and so the boys went to her this year.
Love Carol.
