Old man winter
I know that it has been a while since I have written - and I have been chastised for it too - thanks Merle!:) Anyways, the last few days have been cold and I am hoping the last real taste of winter. We have lots of snow and it is nice and white - which is very pretty. This winter has been great and I hope that we will have good skating and tobagging weather for another month or so - I just hope the -20 stuff is done! The weather was awesome in January and if that is the way January is going to be in Central Alberta, then I say bring it on!
As I write this, I just finished having a guy in my office who spent a week in Mexico and a couple of couples are leaving Saturday for a cruise for ten days - I have to admit, it is hard not being jealous, but hopefully one year Colleen and I will get to go somewhere warm in the midst of winter. We have never done that, and it would be awesome to do that.
Part of the reason that I have not updated my blog lately, is that life is just plain busy and when I have some time, I just have not really felt like typing on my computer. Sorry about that, but that is reality.
The boys are doing well and enjoying life. It is a riot watching them tobaggin in our back yard - not much of a hill, but away they go and make fun out of it. The real hill that we go to is fun and is fast. It has been a bit of back braker for me this winter, but I figure a few chiropractic sessions is worth the joy of laughing with Colleen and the boys as we surge down the hill.
Andrew's report card was better than anticipated and we have learned that he has a hard time focusing in class from time to time and likes to know where the party is and to be involved in that - I wonder what other qualities he gets from his mom? :)
Cameron is becoming independently wealthy for a ten year old. He is saving his paper route money and has almost four hundred dollars saved in his savings account - he likes to see the money adding up - if he keeps it up, he may be able to pay for his first year of university! Wouldn't that be awesome!
Colleen and I are doing well - none of us have been sick yet this winter and hopefully it stays that way. Colleen is enjoying her job and got to go to the AFSC training seminar in Red Deer in January. She really enjoyed it and found it very beneficial. Things are going well for me. Looks like I will be involved in reffing some Red Deer Buccaneers games this spring and summer. It is senior football and one level above high school. It will be good. Things are moving ahead at the Church and we are averaging close to 250 the last three Sundays. Exciting, but it is creating more work and I am having to choose my priorities of what I will and will not do. But, I must admit, that I am having a blast!
I think that I should go for now - we are off to Edmonton for the weekend, so I will update from there or after the weekend about our trip.

Hey Steve
It must be like 20 years since I've seen you. Anyway, glad to hear you are considering dropping the leafs and cheering for the oilers. Thats always good.
Take care and have a good weekend
