One day to go

Yesterday was a l9ng day and a hard day, but I go through it. I got most of my office packed and today Colleen and I will have to go over to get the rest of my stuff and hopefully, that will not take more than an hour. People were coming in to see me, and talk. People are asking me questions that I will not answer - they need to be asking the leadership of the church these questions, I am not going to bail out the leadership on this one. It is messy, but I am glad to be finishing - I did not realize how stressful the last few months were until the last week. My health is not worth this church or any other place - the old saying that absolute power corrupts absolutely is absolutely true! :) It reminds me of Proverbs, pride goes before a fall. Interesting.

I do have to tell you a gift that God gave me yesterday. In my devotions, I was reading Luke 5:1-11 and in that passage, Jesus is calling the first disciples. Jesus says to them, "do not be afraid, from now on, you will be fishers of people." And the text goes on to say, "immediately, they left everything and followed Jesus." That was the passage that God used to call me to ministry as a teen and that is the passage that God used to reaffirm His call to me yesterday. I do not know what the future holds, but I know who my future is with. So, my prayer today is to "leave everything and follow Jesus". I pray Lord Jesus, that my thoughts, actions and deeds would reflect this. Amen and amen.
